The Crew

The XS186 crew has grown and developed over a 10 year period, starting in 2004 with just three dedicated, and now very tired members!  Many people have been able to call themselves XS186 crew members, but not all have been able to, or indeed wanted to stay.

Working on an aircraft outside, in all weathers can be a very hard indeed, but the glorious summer days soon melt frozen hands and feet, and consensus is that there is something in the air when things are going well that keeps most coming back for more, year after year, no matter what.

First of all our past crew members, who include; Greg Wilson, Naylan Moore, Paul and Rob Hulme, Ted Burrows, Howard Rolfe, Geoff Dear, Dick Dockerill, David Cassidy and Mike Hawkins. Thankyou guys.

Not forgetting the other halves of all our crew members, the XS186 WAG’s who provide vital support, mainly in the shape of pies, cakes and buns!

Perhaps most importantly though, I now have to note our current crew members,  for it is this team that have seen, heard, smelled, and felt it come to life. They are:

Ian Allaway, a serving sootie, and our engineering guru. If it's broken he will fix it, or make a new one!

Owner of XS186, the one to blame for all of this.....

Jonty Johnson, our newest crew member, and keen as mustard. If there's a job to do, he's there whilst your'e still thinking about it!

John Evans, worked around aircraft for years and can turn his hand to anything you want to throw at him. Solid Gold.

John Temple - our new P1, pretty in the left hand seat, and XS186 seems to like him too!

Philip Neal, natural tool is a wood saw, but invaluable around our runway caravan!

    Hi Paul,
I am no longer the newest crew member. Part of the furniture now. Welcome to Dick who has taken on my old role brilliantly. Cheers . Jonty.
